Rabbi Joel Bakst on Adamic Judaism, the Divine Formula, and the Messiah

Everything physical is built from atoms. A-T-O-M. That is the material side of reality, broken down to its smallest units. In what Rabbi Joel Bakst calls Adamic Judaism, which is simply classic Judaism carrying the esoteric soul of the tradition known as Kabbalah, spiritual reality works the same way, except it is built from A-D-A-M. Little Adams. Every piece of it.

Picture a spiritual version of an electron scanning microscope. Point it at anything in existence, look at it the right way, and each particle and each wave, spiritual or physical, turns out to be a miniature Adam. That is as holistic as it gets.

So what is an atom, really? A simple form, an outline, a silhouette. Anyone who has studied figure drawing knows the trick: take a rectangle, run two vertical lines down the middle and two horizontal lines across it, and you have nine sections. That grid is the basic scaffolding of the human shape.

The divine form of Adam is not just the thing it looks like on the surface. When the divine configures its light, nine basic coordinates appear inside that light-form. It replicates. Hundreds of times, thousands, millions, billions, and then zillions upon zillions of iterations later, you get us. That repeating pattern is why our form looks the way it does, and it is why the human form is treated as sacred in Judaism. We are a copy of the higher-dimensional form, the one named Yod He Vav He, the divine name of the God of Israel.

And that name is not a G-O-D. Three letters cannot hold it. It is a formula. The God of Israel is a formula, and so is the God at the center of Adamic Judaism. Out of that formula comes every bit of reality, all consciousness, every world that has existed, every world that has never not existed, every possible reality and every impossible one. No exceptions. If you want to fit UFOs and aliens somewhere, they belong inside it too. That is the scale of this Adamic consciousness.

This is also what the Messiah is. Not the Sunday School figure, Jewish or Christian. It has almost nothing to do with the thing commonly discussed as the Messianic Era, the Messianic Age, or the Messiah as a person. The Messiah is the original Adamic consciousness. The Messianic Age is the return, coming full circle, back to the higher-dimensional Garden of Eden.

Those are code words. God, garden, Eden: coordinates in an inter-dimensional reality. Pure math. Kabbalah, at bottom, is the mathematics and the geometry beneath all of it, later dressed up in human language.

Take Jacob. Yaakov is a personal name, yes, but it is also a coordinate inside the God-body of light. The same goes for Abraham, for Isaac, for Moses, and for Ishmael, Abraham's other son, the one the Arab nation traces its line back to, which the Bible records. Esau, Jacob's twin, is traditionally held to be the ancestral root of the Western European and American nations. These are examples, offered only to show how everything gets folded in.
