The 1839 Discovery Behind Our Free Relaxation MP3
We're giving away a meditation track, no strings attached. It's a free MP3 built to coax your brainwaves toward a calmer, more relaxed state, and when we say free, we mean it: there's nothing to buy on the other side of the download.
The science behind the recording goes back further than most people expect. In 1839, a German physicist named Heinrich Wilhelm Dove noticed something odd about how the ear and brain respond to a particular kind of sound. Dove was no fringe figure. He held a Fellowship in the Royal Society, worked as a physicist, and ran the Prussian Meteorological Institute.
What he spotted was an auditory effect, a specific response triggered in human perception by a certain type of sound stimulus. That observation sat around for more than a century before anyone turned it into a usable audio method. Between roughly the 1950s and the 1970s, it was developed into a practical technology. Plenty of people have since claimed credit for that technology, but the original effect traces back to Dove.
Our MP3 takes that same effect and points it at a different goal: mindfulness and relaxation rather than a laboratory curiosity. Consider it a gift, and we hope you get something out of it.
If you're curious about the research, try searching for 'mindfulness' alongside 'the psychological effects of brainwave entrainment.' You'll find published studies indexed on PubMed.gov worth reading through.
