The 1839 Discovery Behind Our Free Relaxation Audio
We put together a meditation audio track called RELAX, and it costs nothing. The idea behind it is simple: the sound is meant to coax your brainwaves toward a calmer, more settled state. You can grab the MP3 without paying anything or signing up for some trial that bills you later.
The science underneath it goes back further than most people expect. In 1839, a physicist named Heinrich Wilhelm Dove noticed something odd about how the human ear and brain respond to a particular kind of sound. He was no fringe figure. Dove was a Fellow of the Royal Society and ran the Prussian Meteorological Institute, and he was the first to document the perceptual effect that a specific auditory signal creates once it reaches us.
His observation sat there for more than a century before anyone turned it into a usable technology. That happened later, roughly between the 1950s and the 1970s, when various people built audio tools around the principle. Several parties have since claimed to have originated the method, but the underlying effect itself traces back to Dove.
What we did was take that old discovery and shape it toward mindfulness and relaxation. The MP3 is our attempt to hand you something useful for winding down, and we hope it does the job for you.
If you want to read deeper, try searching for mindfulness alongside the psychological effects of brainwave entrainment. There is published research on PubMed.gov worth looking at.
