The 1839 Discovery Behind Our Free Relaxation Meditation MP3
We put together a meditation audio track you can download at no cost, and the word "free" here means exactly that. There is no catch and nothing to buy to unlock it. The recording was built to coax your brainwaves toward a calmer, more settled state, the kind of quiet you might associate with mindfulness practice.
The audio draws on an effect that goes back to 1839. A physicist named Heinrich Wilhelm Dove, who held a fellowship in the Royal Society and later ran the Prussian Meteorological Institute, noticed something odd about how the ear and brain respond to a particular kind of sound. He was the first to describe what happens in human perception when each ear receives a slightly different tone.
Dove's observation sat mostly as a curiosity for more than a century. Between roughly the 1950s and the 1970s, others turned it into a usable audio method. Several people have since claimed credit for the technology that grew out of it, but the original finding belongs to Dove.
We took that auditory stimulus and shaped it toward relaxation and mindfulness. The result is the track we are giving away. Our hope is simply that it helps you unwind.
If you want to read the research for yourself, try a search for "mindfulness" together with "the psychological effects of brainwave entrainment," and look at the published studies indexed on PubMed.gov. That will point you to the actual data rather than any claim we make here.
